Levitating Display / China Cabinet

A dramatically balanced display piece, Hunter designed the Levitating cabinet with the weightlessness of sailing and the lyricism of music in mind.

The door frames are carefully cut to a precise curve before they are fitted with curved glass and bent-laminated wood panels. They are then adorned with hand-curved pulls in anodized aluminum. The top section "levitates" above two dramatically poised half-inch thick glass floats. Three interior glass shelves above and one below create space for both storage and display. The top interior is lit from above with soft LED lighting.

The case is made from quilted maple veneers and solids with macassar ebony veneered door panels. The door pulls and stand-off hardware is anodized aluminum. A corner-fitting version of the Levitating cabinet is also available.
