Milk Maker 2

Art Glass Wall Sculpture

Created by Michael Dupille
"Milk Maker" is a kiln formed art glass piece. The artist has done similar pieces using different colors. The techniques used to make it were developed over years of experimentation. Using powdered frit (crushed glass), mixed with a glass binding agent, a paste is created and applied with a palette knife for large areas and piped with a squeeze bottle for line work. Glass rods and different frit sizes are also introduced to the work to add areas of depth and color. The artist fires the piece a number of times to develop the aesthetic. The last firing determines the dimensional shape through a process called slumping. The work is signed and ready to hang. Easy to maintain using a mild glass cleaner and a soft cloth.
