Inspired by that time of day when the the light melts away into a soft monotoned evening. Feder was driving at this time, along a river road with trees in the distance, and stopped to take it all in. The result is Misty River, a 7 block color woodcut, carved from pine and plywood.
Each block of wood is carved differently, inked a different color, and is printed, one at a time, under pressure, on Torinoko paper, creating many color and tones and texture combinations.
The grains of the woods weave throughout the printed image, giving the effects of dusk, wind, and current. Image size is 19"x13.5" plus a generous border. Misty River should be matted then framed under glass or acrylic. Limited edition of 300.
