Upstanding Fox
Wood Sculpture
Created by
Dona Dalton
Foxes move somewhere between time and place. Also, town and country. Maybe it's the camouflage that keeps them so intriguing, letting themselves be seen on their own terms. Sly humor perhaps? Trickster, creator, charmer .... all good energies.
There may be slight variations with each original carving, which is done on the band saw and with rotary carving tools, and plenty of handwork. The wood is poplar, and is painted with layers of latex enamel and acrylics.
