This sculpture is hand carved from solid wood and has furniture tacks applied throughout the surface. The artist wanted to provided an additive surface application to the forms to slow the eye while observing the overall composition. The sculpture has multiple layers of black acrylic paint and has a 1" brass rod supporting it in the pedestal. The composition is as much about the space between the forms as it is about both uprights complementing one another. Paired opposite united.
