Wood, re-imagined as woven and beaded sculpture and basketry. Here is one-of-a-kind artwork inspired by stories common to the region of Andalusia and southern Spain - rich in the traditions of Moorish tribal iconography and legends. An accent gemstone, cobalt-red crystal Erythrite, is the central focus point, framed by a spire of hand-carved Bubinga wood topped by a black pearl. The body of the artwork is lathe-turned sugar maple, hand-carved and hand-colored. The top spire comes off for shipment and storage.
