Journey Boat: Figure with Infant

Boats are safe havens as well as carriers to adventure and discovery. Carved from wood using a bandsaw and hand painted with latex enamel, this sculpture features a parent with an infant, and a frog on the bow. On the underside of the boat is a quote from Rumi: "Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond."
