Bear Journey

Wood Sculpture

Created by Elizabeth Frank
What journeys do the bears take in their long hibernation dreams? Carved from found aspen collected in the mountains of Northern Arizona and New Mexico. The inside of the boat is painted with metal leaf and deep iridescent blues to resemble water. The bears are painted with metal leaf, iridescent paint and layers of delicate brush strokes to resemble fur. The sculpture sits on a steel stand. The piece is removed from the stand for shipping.
