African Pompano
Wood & Metal Sculpture
Created by
Mark Gottschalk
Contrasting rich mahogany with polished aluminum, the artist captures the streamlined beauty of fish. Wood is dyed to emphasize its grain, then coated with acrylic lacquer. The back is finished in flat black and is not intended for display. Freestanding sculpture can be converted to a wall piece (hangers included).
The wood can be cleaned with a damp rag and the metal can be polished with aluminum polish if needed; however, because of the high degree of polishing, the metal should not require additional polishing. The metal parts are attached with set screws so they can be removed it required.
