Stone Top Sideboard

A stone topped sideboard of Birdseye Maple and Wenge. The Wenge is used as the drawer pulls, and the wrap around the drawer openings that sets off the carved and sculpted drawer fronts. The birdseye panels at the end of the piece are likewise carved and sculpted. The piece is assembled using mortise & tenon joints. The drawers are hand dovetailed, and the drawer bottoms are hardwood. They are removable for any conversion. The stone is from a unique quarry. The composition is sandstone, but it has the hardness quotient of granite. The stone is completely sealed after being polished. A birdseye maple frame contains the stone, which is 1 1/8" thick.
