Skin Series #16, White Bars

This watercolor is on surprise watercolor paper. It feels like a cold press but was purchased at auction. The Skin, Hair & Water Series has been influenced by all of the former paintings by the artist of her elephants - their skin, their texture. However, the artist cannot escape the connection to the motion, flow, and the wonderful blues of Lake Huron near her home. Nature also impacts the new series - the mane of a horse, the flow of a zebra's tail - this is where the "hair" fits in the series.
