Watercolor Painting

Created by Peggy Brown
The landscape inspires both the artist's abstract work and her realistic watercolor paintings. Initially, using transparent watercolor paint, forms are painted on totally wet archival paper. When dry, Brown compliments and define the image with graphite pencil drawing and often re-paints all or parts. No two paintings are alike. The artist's work is known for its subtle color and strong attention to good design. Using reversible tape, she mounts each painting upon another piece of watercolor paper or museum board allowing the deckle or torn edges of the painting to be exposed as part of its presentation. If that is not desirable, edges can easily be covered by a mat, in a more traditional manner, during the framing process. Like all works on paper it requires framing under glass.
