Disappearing Prairie II

This piece is from a series honoring the endangered and threatened plants, forbs, and related species of the American Prairies. Today, fewer than 40 percent of what was once 550 million acres of North American grasslands remain. As the artist learns more and more about these rich ecosystems they make their way into her paintings as subject and metaphor.
