Between Heaven and Earth

The Chinese I Ching symbols for Heaven and Earth frame the brilliant reds, golds, and earth tones in the forms between, bringing together the artist's love of metal surfaces with imagery and painting. Original photographic layers, gold leaf, and acrylics are applied to the aluminum panel with steel structure and Lexan. The artist can create works that not only glow with reflected light, but also have a texture that appears to float above the aluminum surface. He incorporates images, printed digitally on transparent layers, and adhered or transferred directly onto the work, that enhance both metal and paint in unexpected ways. Each piece is unique and will vary slightly.
