Rockaway Point Yacht Club 2o5

Oil Painting

Created by Jonathan Herbert
A plein aire painting of a subject serendipitously discovered during an aimless car ride. The artist found this place down a bumpy dirt road at the western end of Far Rockaway, a right turn from the barricade guarding an army base. At the end of the road was a beautiful wrought-iron gate with the name "Rockaway Point Yacht Club" and beyond that were a couple of hundred rowboats and small skiffs piled up. He was told by a passerby they belonged to member of the New York Police and Fire Departments.

The painting will arrive with a coat of damar varnish to protect it from solids in the air that might be deposited on it. It should be professionally framed to brace and protect it, as well as to enhance its beauty. As with all artwork, this piece should not be hung in direct sunlight.

The frame and surface can be dusted lightly with a soft feather duster. Signed "VERSO".

The giclee of the original painting is printed on archival paper with archival inks. Limited edition of 250. Dimensions refer to image size. There is a 2'' border on each side of the print.
