Deconstruction Study 2

Oil Painting

Created by Stephen Cimini
Oil paint, cold wax medium, and marble dust on back-gessoed canvas permanently adhered to cradled wood panel. The canvas is gallery wrapped. The painting continues around the edges. Framing is not necessary; however, it can be set off in a floating frame.

There are three studies in this series. They are very striking hung together.

This series explores the artist's fascination with the science of color, how opposites on the color wheel "neutralize" each other when mixed together. For three months during the summer of 2015, Cimini limited his palette to hues of blue and orange. This is a study from that exercise. Wired and ready to hang.
