Created by Judy Hawkins
The drama of an evening sunset on the Connecticut River inspired the artist to paint "August Night". Hawkins' use of brilliant color and gestural brushwork catch the viewer's attention, and when looking further, one sees subtle color variations, reflections, ripples, and currents in the water bringing them to the distant horizon where bushes catch the last evening light. This oil is painted on gallery-wrapped canvas with painted sides and is ready to hang on the wall.
