Monotypes Print
Created by
Katharine McGuinness
The joys of highway road trips are explored through layers of color in this energetic monotype print.
The composition is designed through a process of “painting” with lithography inks, rollers, and small brayers on an acrylic plate before sending the image through an intaglio press. By printing on the paper several times, the artist creates unique variation within the work, forming layers of ink that can vary from opaque to translucent.
This piece is printed on Rives BFK 100% rag paper with a deckled edge and is meant to be floated when framed, with the edges of the artwork exposed. Titled and signed by the artist with a chop mark in the lower right corner.
