Mollie Woods

Harlequin Light

"Distinctive blown glass, elegant embellishment, refined proportion, sophisticated whimsy...these elements define my collection and coalesce in designs that are not only functional pieces, but also works of art."

Mollie Wood's background as an artist and interior designer gives her work its signature strength of statement and offbeat elegance. Wood's work is distinctly imaginative and unconventional, yet embodies the sophistication and refinement to grace both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Wood's early pieces were one of a kind, constructed with refinished and reassembled flea market and thrift store objects. Her current collection has evolved to include blown glass by several American glass artists, hand-painted brass and turned wood components, and the sophisticated embellishments that are her trademark. These elements continue to inform her work in a lively and original way.

With degrees in art and interior design, Mollie Woods has utilized her talent as a painter and designer in developing her collection of lamps and candlesticks. Her pieces often feature hand-painted shades and accent details. The work is stylish and refined, with keen attention to proportion, scale, and function. Each piece is made in her Vermont studio.
