Revisiting the Courtyard in Oaxaca

"Revisiting the Courtyard in Oaxaca" is one of the lovely scenes looking into the courtyard of a number of hotels that are just magical in Mexico. Feldman sat at he entrance, sketched what she saw, and went back to the table to make up the texture, the colors, the detail of the scene. She loves reinterpreting a scene and it usually ends up 75% made up! She used the colors subtly to capture the golds greens, browns, and blues.

This piece was done with charcoal, then outlined with Caran D'ache crayons. Each area is then filled with different oil pastels and the last layer is watercolor.
