Tanzanite was discovered in the hills of Northern Tanzania by Masai tribesman and remains the sole source of Tanzanite to this day. An extremely desirable gemstone, it can show two colors—blue and violet—depending on the way the light hits the stone.

Each tanzanite is hand-picked by the artist and will measure approximately 15 x 14 mm (about 18 carats). It's set in a solid 22k gold bezel and accented with three 22k granules on each side. To bring out the blue-violet of the stone it has a pure silver back. The ring band is sterling silver and is hand tapered on the back of the ring for a comfort fit. Each stone has its own unique "character characteristics" seen in the crystal structure of minerals like a fingerprint. Only naturally formed gemstones will show this mineral structure. Tanzanites are hand picked by the artist and may be slightly more square or rectangular than the photo.

Signed on the back by the artist.

Wash gently with mild dish soap. 22K gold doesn't tarnish; a polishing cloth is included with your ring for the sterling silver band.
