The Four Seasons: Spring

Giclee Print

Created by Meredith Nemirov
This series of mixed media works on paper," The Four Seasons," which these giclee prints are based on, is a study of the same aspen trees as they change with each season. This one titled "Spring" captures the moment when the new fresh green leaves start to appear along with the catkins that only appear in the spring. The catkins are what the returning yellow warblers love to eat. This light bright green is the fleeting color of the new spring leaves. The painting is done with watercolor and gouache ad the line work is drawn with India ink or gouache and a steel nib pen. The change of seasons has always been an inspiration for this artist whose focus is on the tree in the landscape.
