The Four Seasons: Autumn

This series of mixed media works on paper," The Four Seasons," which these giclee prints are based on, is a study of the same aspen trees as they change with each season. This one titled "Autumn" captures the brightness of the leaves at the height of the color change. To emphasize the liveliness of the changing colors the artist chose to set them off against a pine forest of deep green. The painting is done with watercolor and gouache and the line work is drawn with India ink or gouache and a steel nib pen. The change of seasons has always been an inspiration for this artist whose work focuses on the tree in the landscape.
