Silent in Graphite

Giclee Print

Created by Richard Toft
Giclee print of an original graphite drawing using hatched and cross-hatched strokes with a very sharp, hard lead that simulates work done with an etching stylus. Contemporary realism in the spirit of Old World craftsmanship.

On 130 lb Hahnemuhle cotton museum etching paper with deckled edges. Ships flat. Available unframed or matted and framed. The matted and framed piece measures 15"H, 19"W.

Frames are handcrafted with native cherry grown on the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay here in Virginia. A sequence of sandings leaves the surface perfectly smooth. Tung oil, linseed oil, and a hard spar varnish is hand rubbed into the frame and steel wool is applied for a smooth, soft luster finish. A double archival, antique white mat is used with museum glass to create a frame that is in the spirit of craftsmanship inherent in these pieces.
