Rio Dulce

Giclee Print

The artist went to teach at the Altos de Chavon School of Design in 1983. She and her husband chose to move out of the artist complex into the town of La Romana. They had the opportunity to interact with the regular town community there, and that was very valuable for them. She rode a scooter to work every day, and she crossed the Rio Dulce every day. This painting was painted from the vantage point of the bridge that crossed it. They lived in the second hill on the right. That landscape has completely changed. The hill is now crowded with commercial buildings. The painting represents a moment in time. She has vibrant memories of those years.

This print is from an original oil painting. It ships flat.
