Giclee print on heavy, archival paper. From an original oil on canvas. Paper size has 3 inch deckled borders on each side. Signed at bottom right and numbered at bottom left. Limited edition of 195 with 15 artist proofs.
This oil was started a few months back and was just completed in the artist's new studio. This is not the first time he has painted this favorite scene at the edge of the lake, the last one being completed years ago. But for whatever the reason, he felt compelled to do another version with more muted tones and colors.
The light is important and it drives this composition. Here it is represented softly and with a bit of haze that seems to follow the light itself. The artist didn't set out to make it that way, but as the painting evolved, he eventually found himself in this calming, eternal scene that can pass onto you.
