Fiber Wall Hanging
Created by Olena Nebuchadnezzar
Pieced squares of cotton prints and batiks in colors blended with each other, serve as a background. A patch of irises, done in raw edge applique using iridescent silk dupioni. Beautiful textured petals achieved by painstakingly scrunching to imitate the realistic ruffles of an iris. Accentuated with acrylic paint including metallic. Wrapped over wooden stretcher bars coated with polyurethane, wiring added to the back, ready to hang.
