Fiber Wall Hanging
Created by Cindy Grisdela
Salimugundi has one improvisationally designed block as the focal point, set asymmetrically in a rectangular space. Stitching lines add texture in the plain areas using a variety of motifs, including fans, spirals and paisleys. The name comes from a composed salad from a favorite restaurant. Design pieced from cotton hand-dyed fabric and mounted on painted black canvas for easy hanging. Freehand quilted on a home sewing machine. Variegated cotton thread used in quilting. Avoid direct sunlight. Use a lint roller for light cleaning.
