Neon Fizz

"Neon Fizz" is a cheerful play on curves in bright colors. A variety of different curved motifs dance across the surface, enhanced by irregularly space vertical stitching lines in a soft gray thread. Putting colors together intuitively, the artist use fabric the way a painter might use paint to engage viewers from a distance, yet invite a closer look. Includes a hanging sleeve and slat with eye hooks to hang easily on the wall with two small nails.

Grisdela creates all her work in her studio overlooking a lake in Reston, VA. Each wall hanging is quilted individually using her domestic home sewing machine. The designs are stitched freehand, with no marking ahead of time and no computer program, just the artist drawing the designs with the machine's needle and thread. Each piece has the artist's signature stitched into the front in an unobtrusive spot.
