Fiber Wall Hanging
Created by Cindy Grisdela
A modern improv stripe quilt in the tradition of "strippy" quilts made historically to use up scraps and leftover blocks. This piece started with bits and pieces from the scrap basket and some jazzy lime green fabrics for the background. The result is an energetic wall quilt that would add color and texture to any wall. The stitching is a whimsical spiral and jigsaw puzzle motif that acts to calm the energy of the overall composition. Designed from cotton fabric and freehand quilted on a home sewing machine using variegated thread. Includes a hanging sleeve and slat with small eye hooks in either end to easily hang from two small nails in the wall. Avoid direct sunlight. Clean lightly with a lint roller.
