Evening Out in Cairo
Fiber Wall Hanging
Created by
Pamela Allen
This fabric collage was inspired by a trip to Egypt and the Middle East, where the artist observed the communal nature of evenings in the neighborhoods she visited—kids played together, adults socialized over tea and shisha. The artist used a variety of colorful, patterned fabrics to convey the liveliness of the communities that inspired her.
Commercial and recycled fabrics are pieced with hand stitching and machine quilting. Has a pleated sleeve sewn on the back so that a slat can be added for hanging (slat not included). Ships flat. Includes instructions for care.
