This image is part of the artist's ongoing Floraphilia project which was first published in the prestigious Lenswork Magazine in July 2010. A second black and white portfolio was published in 2014 in Lenswork, and a third was seen in Shadow and Light Magazine
Though Guthertz has photographed flowers in black and white for many years, his current botanical images capture exotic blooms in their distinctive colors of deep reds, magentas, and purples as well as velvety yellows and pure whites.
