Perigord Black Truffles

Color Photograph

Created by Raphael Sloane
Truffles,Tuber melanosporum vittadini, have a long and varied history. They are mentioned in the old Testament and there are recipes for them in the first cookbook ever written, "Apicius' De re Coquinaria". This along with the mystery surrounding the gathering of them and their monetary value only adds to their rather large status in the culinary world. All images are printed in Raphael Sloane's studio to archival standards with archival pigment ink and archival paper from a company that has been making paper for over 400 years. Limited edition prints are signed and dated in lower right hand corner below the image on the white boarder. They are numbered on the left side in the same fashion as the signature. Image size is 9" x 16" on 13" x 19" paper. Edition of 75 Truffles are part of the artist's "Edible Collection".
