Cave Painting Tile, Beauty Mark
Ceramic Wall Sculpture
Created by Jeri Hollister
Inspired by the prehistoric cave paintings of Lascaux and Chauvet, France, this dimensional tile drawing is built from extruded clay mounted on a slab. The extrusions provide a background pattern and texture into which the drawing is incised. After the bisque firing, black copper glaze is inlaid into the recesses and colored slip is applied to the surface. A hanging wire is mounted on the back, or the tile may be displayed in a stand (not included).
