Still Learning Things I Should Know by Now II

Ceramic Sculpture

Created by Cathy Broski
This elegant ceramic figure is a study of form and a celebration of self-awareness. She is made of stoneware clay and finished with a semi-matte black glaze, Cathy wipes away the high-points, creating an antiqued look; the rich character of found objects from years past. Cathy begins by throwing the base on a potter's wheel and finishes the gestural form with hand-building techniques. The heart recess is gold leafed and sealed.

Outdoor Care:
This piece can be displayed outdoors year-round in all climates and temperatures. If in a freeze-thaw zone, ensure that the foot is off the ground—a bed of stones or a walkway stone works well. Clean with a damp cloth.
