Never Look Back II

Swaying in the ocean waves, a lone figure stands on a boat in the company of a true friend. This sculpture, a metaphor for life's journeys, is a reminder to never look back in regret. The dog, boat, and removable figure are all hand built from stoneware clay, then fired and painted with colored slip and terra sigillata made by the artist. Layers of color are selectively wiped away from the high points to give this piece a weathered quality.
