Cross of Square Tubes and Cones

Ceramic Sculpture

Created by Frank Nemick
This ceramic sculpture is composed of both hand-thrown and extruded clay elements, with intriguing surface effects. The top and bottom vessels have crackled surfaces indicative of naked raku techniques and are detailed with glazed spiral elements that bring sparkle and movement. The horizontal middle element is created from a trio of glazed, raku-fired clay tubes in vibrant colors.

Care
The top and bottom elements should be handled with clean, dry hands to avoid staining the surface. They can be dusted with a soft rag, but liquids or sprays are strongly discouraged.
This sculpture can be displayed outdoors in temperatures 30 degrees F and up, but should not be allowed to become wet and freeze. Water may change the color of the unglazed elements, similar to a bronze patina aging.
