Persephone Box with Butterflies

This low-fire terra cotta box is hand-built with slab construction. The lid, which comprises the upper half of the box, is carefully glazed with multiple layers of translucent glaze colors. The bottom half of the box is glazed with brushed black and white glaze that has been delicately scratched for further visual texture and interest.
