Newsome forms this medium-sized serving or dinner bowl on the potter's wheel with a terra cotta clay that she mixes in her studio. After the bisque fire, she hand-brushes food-safe glazes on in multiple layers to achieve a rich depth of color, then fires again to finish the work.
