Two Koi Waterlily Bowl

Ceramic Bowl

Created by Nancy Y. Adams
Wheel thrown porcelain bowl with hand carved and modeled waterlilies and koi. Airbrushed matte glazes fired to maturity in an oxidation kiln. The Japanese welcome koi as a symbol of good fortune and luck. They also symbolize strength of purpose, courage and perseverance in adversity. Koi ponds improve the flow of energy and serenity, encouraging the optimal flow of universal life energy. This was a complicated piece to make even though it seems so simple. Signed and dated.
