In Between the Lines Bowl

Ceramic Bowl

Created by Lisa Scroggins
This bowl is created from a warm white earthenware clay. The vessel is first wheel thrown and trimmed. While the bowl is still greenware, clay's most fragile state, the artist brushes hundreds of lines and swirls of rich black underglaze in an African-inspired pattern that wraps around the interior of the bowl.

Once the bowl is bisque fired, four coats of a rich red glaze are brushed on the exterior and three layers of a clear gloss glaze are brushed on the interior. The artist's signature is brushed on the bottom of the piece, and the bowl is fired in the kiln once more.

Limited edition of 50. Each piece is unique; slight variations in shape, dimensions, and colors will occur.
