Pamela Whitlock

"Imagine being able to wake up each day and work in so many different colors and designs. How lucky I am. "

Pamela Whitlock considers herself a craftsman as well as an artist. She creates pieces that have both function and beauty and enhance everyday life. She is inspired by her mother, an avid knitter who loved to work with beautiful yarns, and Jack Lenor Larsen, whose wonderful fabrics covered the furniture in her childhood home.

Whitlock focuses on shadow weave and color-and-weave techniques, which create intricately patterned effects. Her luxurious scarves and shawls are woven primarily of bamboo fiber for pieces that are sculptural in pattern, and elegant to both hand and eye.
