Sandy Native Vessel
Art Glass Vessel
Created by
Thomas Spake
The form of this hand blown glass vase is inspired by Native American pottery and the pattern is inspired by the subtle yet infinite colors of the American Southwest. The colors and pattern is composed of tan, beige, and red glass frits and powder. These colors are laid out beforehand and arranged in a manner to be consistent. This piece has a white and clear interior, which brightens the exterior colors and allows reflected light to give the piece a subtle illumination. The vase has a red accented lip and is sandblasted to give a matte finish that accentuates the sophisticated color pattern.
