Maroon Bells

This pinnacle vase is inspired by the Maroon Bells, the mountain peaks outside of Aspen. The artist first layers opaque beige, taupe, and red frit and powdered glass. The artist then uses a wrap of molten glass to accentuate the shoulder of the piece. Finally the top of the piece is engraved to reveal a rich crimson interior and is finally sandblasted to achieve a matte finish. Each piece is unique and will vary.
