Lidded Urn

This hand-blown glass vase was created by rolling the clear molten glass through several colors to create a watery, aqua blue. It is then blown into a ribbed optic mold. After it comes out of the mold, another layer of molten clear glass is put on top of the bubble and is blown and shaped by hand with wet newspaper to become a perfectly symmetrical vase. Lastly, the artist created the lid of the urn by measuring it first and calibrating the lid to the rest of the vessel.
