Aqua Tide
Art Glass Vase
Created by
John Gibbons
This hand blown glass vase has three layers of color. First black, then white, and finally aqua. After the colors are layered the bubble is blown into a mold twice to create the cross hatch pattern on the surface of the glass. After the bubble comes out of the mold for the second time it is dipped back into the furnace to be covered with another layer of molten clear glass. Finally, the molten bubble is blown and shaped by hand into a symmetrical vase.
