Shepherd
Art Glass Sculpture
Created by
Carol Carson
"Shepard" speaks of protection, of gathering and holding close, feelings that need to be guarded. The "Shepard" himself is fragile and slight, seeking shelter behind a fenced wall. As in most of Carson's work, the figures display the essence of vulnerability and the need of security. This piece is layers of hand-drawn, painted glass, that has been fired several times to fuse shape the images, and then sandblasted.
