Gray Horizon

Art Glass Sculpture

Created by Andrew Stenerson
Gray and black blown glass rondelle on a white ground. After the piece has cooled, it is fired a second time to make it completely flat for etching. A series of concentric lines are then carved from the center to the edge of the piece, giving a spoke-like pattern. Engraving tools are then used to grind through the black and gray to reveal the white and clear glass underneath.

A custom steel stand is welded to fit the glass. The steel is finished, darkened, and sealed to keep from rusting. Customer need only slide the glass into the stand.

This truly unique sculpture is perfect on a side table or mounted on a pedestal.
