Art Glass Sculpture

Created by Helen Rudy
The glass pattern is first made in the kiln as a large square slab. It comprises many layers and sections of hand-cut glass placed and layered to create the intricate bold pattern. The glass is then melted over a hole so the glass drops down into the hole and creates a rounded vessel with a brim of glass that prevents the bowl from falling through the hole. It is a delicate process and success is not guaranteed! The glass brim is cut off and the vessel shape is left. The glass is then carefully sliced away at the rim to create the sculptural petal shape.

The included custom stand allows you to orientate the glass the way you wish.
