Susan Bradley

"Passions for travel, high fashion, vintage couture, architecture, and luxurious, industrial fabrics—put this together and you have Susan Bradley Designs."

Bradley's luxurious and architectural pieces are the culmination of a lifelong fascination with tactile luxury, exotic travel, and visual story in textile art. Rare, opulent, and industrial fabrics with a perfectionist's attention to detail characterize Susan's work. Her travels as part of the flight crew with a major airline advanced her knowledge of high fashion and simplicity.

Bradley has worked with needle and thread for as long as she can remember. Always longing for couture with a different look, she grew up far from "the city lights"—which further fed her desire for high fashion. Living on a lake and water sports introduced Bradley to neoprene fabric, while a life of travel to Japan and Paris led her to industrial suitcase mesh, opulent silks, and vintage kimonos.

While much of Bradley's training comes from lifelong experiences, she has also studied at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and the Minnetonka Center of the Arts. Bradley has also studied sumi-e, the Japanese art of ink painting, which furthered her knowledge of the Japanese kimono.
